Two dogs (3 and 4 Years old dog) with neurologic signs was referred to Royal Animal IMedical Center. The presenting signs was seizure or paralysis. Hydrocephalus was diagnosed in two dogs with neurologic signs, using Magnetic resonance images. In the dogs in the untreated hydrocephalus stage, a ventriculoperitoneal shunt with an implantable device for measurement of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow was used to manage the hydrocephalus. Implantation of ventriculoperitoneal shunts in the precoronal position was generally accomplished using a retroauricular incision for subcutaneous tunneling. the single-pass tunneling technique was safe and avoids one source of complications. After the dogs underwent shunt placement, significant improvement was observed in neurologic sign. This mode of diagnosis and management was successful.
